Jim has been a Chartered Surveyor for over 30 years, during this period he has worked on most kinds of construction types using all contract forms including traditional, design and build, two stage tendering and partnering. His extensive construction experience has allowed him to develop and extend his expertise within the field of Project Management where he is a Prince 2 Registered Practitioner. 

In-depth knowledge and extensive experience  

Jim has acted as Project Manager working with a range of stakeholders dealing with all aspects of design to ensure a cost effective and acceptable solution on a wide range of projects. Recent successful experience of partnering has added to the skills that Jim can bring to any project. 

Jim has been responsible for the successful delivery of commercial, residential, industrial and educational projects ranging in size from £200,000 to £20,000,000.

Elaine Davis

Senior Administrator

Elaine is the senior administrator within the practice and is a specialist in funding and administration for the education sector as well as ensuring that the necessary internal procedures are in place and being correctly implemented and followed. Elaine is also responsible for compliance to a large number of schools and academies.

Sue Cross


Sue looks after the general administration of the practice to include vicarages, school academies, fees and the general day to day running of the Bristol office.

Tom has 12 years’ experience in the construction industry in various roles, as a Carpenter, Site Manager, Project Manager, Designer and Building Surveyor.

Mike Twohig


Mike is a surveyor with extensive experience in design and obtaining planning approval across a broad range of project types. Mike is also able to offer party wall and dilapidation advice and support to our clients.

Anna Roderick


Anna is a qualified building surveyor, skilled in producing AutoCAD drawings. A local UWE graduate, she has experience in residential building surveying and project management and is now looking forward to developing her career at Hookway.
