Constructing Excellence Integration and Collaborative Working award

Hookway aims to provide a close working relationship with both clients and design colleagues to maximise cost effective building management. Partners maintain a personal involvement in all projects, supported by our efficient well-trained staff.

Construction excellence through collaborative working is defined as 'Working together in a seamless team to common objectives that deliver benefit for all through mutually-beneficial (i.e. including commercial) alignment'. We strive to achieve this in all collaborative partnerships and are part of the 'Trust Partnering Team' that won the 'South West Built Environment Integration and Collaborative Working Award' in 2008.

A repeat performance

Hookway has recently been  shortlisted again for the same award for collaboration on a major industrial project in the South East. We carried out full cost management and CDM duties on the project, from inception to completion, including;  option appraisals, cost planning, life cycle costing, two stage tender documentation, tender reporting, contract document preparation, change and cost management, undertaking valuations, claim and contractual advice to the Client and final account negotiations.

The same team has also been shortlisted for the Construction Excellence Health and Safety Award. Read more about this project  in our case study.

Testimonial

“Hookway worked in close partnership with us and carefully managed a range of trades and contractors. Greg Smith, Hookway’s Surveyor, met with my team regularly and always acted upon any feedback shared; he cared passionately about the quality of the work and made sure that it was completed to an excellent standard.’”

“This year we had two bids totalling over a one million pounds for Lawn Manor. Our new boilers and plant, and new roof projects have gone completely smoothly, safely and within budget.”

“Tom Bishop led us through the two-year process with a calm and professional demeanour. His contribution to the project was central to the completion of the building on-time (during the pandemic) and the design outcomes have suited our teaching and performance needs completely. A highly successful design and architectural project.”
