The existing modular buildings required significant upgrades to address condition issues and ensure they remained fit for purpose.

Key challenges included:

  • Refurbishing ageing modular accommodation within budget constraints
  • Delivering works within a live school environment

  • Refurbishment of modular teaching blocks
  • Internal reconfiguration to improve layout and usability
  • Upgrades to building services and finishes
  • External works to improve access and security
  • Roof refurbishment, including installation of a new waterproofing system

The roofing works incorporated a high-performance bituminous waterproofing system designed to improve durability and weather resistance.

Project Outcome

The completed project has successfully transformed the existing modular buildings into functional, refreshed teaching spaces.

Key benefits include:

  • Improved internal environments for teaching and learning
  • Enhanced building performance and weather protection
  • Extended lifespan of existing school assets
