Multi Use Games Areas

Hookway recently project managed the installation of an impressive new Multi Use Games Area (MUGA) for St Bonaventure’s School in Bristol. This is just one example of many such projects that we have worked on in the South West.

About MUGAS

MUGAS are highly prized by all those who use them. Hookway has successfully project managed many high quality MUGA installations over the years and have gained a deep awareness of  the numerous potential associated pitfalls.

Some of the points to be considered include;

  • location
  • size of area
  • topology of the land
  • who will be using the facility
  • perimeter fencing
  • access
  • lighting
  • accessories – nets, goal posts, seats etc

A lasting asset that can create additional revenue

A MUGA can mean many different things to different people and everyone’s’ interests need to be taken into consideration. A successful installation will be a highly valued asset that is appreciated by all who use it. Previous examples of projects that we have worked on and that have really stood the test of time include a large Astroturf pitch installed on what was a steeply sloping site at St Marks School in Bath ten years ago. This pitch has proved highly popular with pupils and staff ever since. We also installed a polymeric MUGA at St. Mary Redcliffe School in Bristol  twelve years ago and have subsequently converted this to 3G. It is in constant use and has significantly boosted lettings revenue for the school since completion
