£7.5 million worth of CIF bids secured in 2019

Hookway helped over 30 academies secure a combined total of more than £7.5 million in CIF funding for 2019. The individual funding was approved in April and the projects then needed to be planned, implemented and completed by the beginning of September in time for the start of the new academic year.

From boiler replacements to building refurbishments

The various projects were approved to address a variety of different issues such as safeguarding, building compliance and poor building conditions. Work included complete roof repairs, constructing a secure entrance lobby, boundary wall repairs, washroom refurbishments, removal of an asbestos roof, boiler replacements and alterations to provide additional classroom space.

Ensuring quality and timeliness of delivery

Projects took between 5-12 weeks to complete depending on the scale of the work. Our team has worked tirelessly throughout to ensure that every aspect of the work was completed to an extremely high standard, delivered on deadline and that the outcome met with our clients' approval.

We completed a number of projects for Royal Wotton Bassett Academy Trust. Jon Stewart, the Academy's business manager said;

“Hookway have been fantastic for us, they have prepared all of our bids and CIF has made huge difference to our buildings over recent years.

"This year we had two bids totalling over a million pounds for Lawn Manor. Our new boilers and plant, and new roof projects, have gone completely smoothly, safely and within budget”.

“After a fantastic refurbishment of our Grade II* listed building roof last year, Hookway has excellently project managed a complete transformation of our asbestos roofs. ”

“Our old sports hall has now been transformed into a multi-purpose performance space with a professional stage lighting and sound rig. What a transformation! Tom Bishop from Hookway listened very carefully to our requirements and then went about designing the new Norton Hill Arts Theatre. With cherry panelling and sound absorbent materials the main room has amazing acoustics, perfect for concerts and performances alike.”

“Hookway worked in close partnership with us and carefully managed a range of trades and contractors. Greg Smith, Hookway’s Surveyor, met with my team regularly and always acted upon any feedback shared; he cared passionately about the quality of the work and made sure that it was completed to an excellent standard.’”
