Page Park wins LABC West of England Excellence Award
We were delighted to join over 400 representatives from across the construction industry this summer at the Local Authority Building Control (LABC) West of England Building Excellence Awards 2018.
The awards evening, which took place at the Bristol Marriott Hotel, celebrated excellence in construction. The awards were presented by LABC's Business Development Director Anna Thompson and this year's President Chris Griffith-Jones.
Celebrating the very best in construction in England and Wales
Some 14 projects were named as winners during the evening; each deemed to have succeeded in facing and overcoming challenges to reach the highest building standards, and excel in areas such as performance, sustainability, working relationships, innovation and problem-solving.
LABC's Chief Executive Paul Everall said, "The awards are an opportunity for us to celebrate some of the very best in construction in England and Wales, recognising the high level of quality and skill we can and do reach in the UK."
Page Park Cafe - Best Public Service Building
Hookway was immensely proud to be part of the team that won the Best Public Service Building award for Page Park Cafe and Community Space in Bristol. We undertook Quantity Surveying duties on the scheme for South Gloucestershire Council from assisting with the Heritage Lottery funding through to completion (view case study) . As regional winners, the project will automatically go into the Grand Finals, which will be held on Friday 9th November in London. We will share the Grand Final results as soon as they have been announced.
